Varley
Wayne Varley is a legend in the Oklahoma City Street Racing scene. He started working on Ford cars at the age of 12 in Yorkshire. When he was 16 he moved to the states, got a job at McDonalds and saved up for his first car. Over the years Varley has raised 9 children, 8 of whom are adopted. He’s had to work hard, taking odd jobs on the side to earn enough money to not only support his children but his passion for racing at the same time.Varley really started hitting the streets hard when he purchased his 1980 Ford Fox Body Mustang, better known in the Oklahoma scene as The Gold Car. Varley being a purist, he’s never used anything other than a Ford engine in the Gold Car thus making it the only Ford engine on Street Outlaws. He’s raced the car for decades but has now stepped out of the driver’s seat and let his son Tony behind the wheel. After a few recent changes, Varley and Tony are confident they can restore The Gold Car’s old pride and glory at the top of “The List.”
